After the legendary children’s book firm Scholastic declared that it would force schools to include child grooming and transgender books in its sponsored book fairs in America’s grade schools, a movement to develop an alternative is underway.
The controversy began in October, when Scholastic, a long-time marketer of children’s books, stated that schools would be able to opt out of including controversial, sexually graphic homosexual sex books in their book fairs for young children. These book fairs are often held in over 120,000 schools to provide children with the opportunity to purchase books geared toward them at reasonable prices.
Because so many states have passed legislation prohibiting some sexually explicit novels from being stocked in school libraries, the firm, which has been eliminating parts of old book series due to alleged “racism,” opted to offer the opt-out for the more problematic works.
“There is now enacted or pending legislation in more than 30 U.S. states prohibiting certain kinds of books from being in schools — mostly LGBTQIA+ titles and books that engage with the presence of racism in our country,” according to a statement released by Scholastic in October.
“Because Scholastic Book Fairs are invited into schools, where books can be purchased by kids on their own, these laws create an almost impossible dilemma: back away from these titles or risk making teachers, librarians and volunteers vulnerable to being fired, sued or prosecuted,” the company added.
The corporation then added a new selection of 64 novels that are more contentious than ordinary children’s books. These books were dubbed the “Share Every Story, Celebrate Every Voice” collection by the publisher. Their idea was to allow schools to choose whether or not to include this collection at a book fair.
Leftists, however, were furious about this opt-in feature and accused Scholastic of “censoring books.”
It wasn’t long before Scholastic succumbed to the left-wing outrage machine, scrapped the opt-in collection, and stated that from now on, every school would be required to take the books geared at grooming tiny children for sexual intercourse with adults.
Scholastic president Ellie Berger apologized to the left in an Oct. 25 statement, claiming that the opt-in collection was a mistake.
“Even if the decision was made with good intention, we understand now that it was a mistake to segregate diverse books in an elective case,” she said. “We recognize and acknowledge the pain caused, and that we have broken the trust of some of our publishing community, customers, friends, trusted partners and staff, and we also recognize that we will now need to regain that trust.”
Now that Scholastic appears to be suggesting that schools will be required to take the contentious grooming books, many people are looking for alternatives to the left-wing agenda being imposed on youngsters. Kirk Cameron, an actor and Christian activist, is about to fill that void.
According to Fox News, Cameron has announced the launch of SkyTree novels, which he claims will offer “healthy, wholesome” novels for children.
The nonprofit says that it is “leading the way with book fairs that promote literacy while protecting childhood innocence.”
The former “Growing Pains” star claims that his new venture is a direct response to Scholastic Book Fairs’ choice to promote controversial and improper content for children.
“It’s obvious that Scholastic is committed to indoctrinating our youth with harmful messages,” Cameron told Fox News.
“They are not just the 1,000-pound gorilla in this space. They are the space. They are the ones publishing this material. We want to knock them out of the race,” the actor added.
“A lot of this stuff is pornography by any definition,” he said of many of the books Scholastic is celebrating.

SkyTree intends to roll out its new curriculum to over 600 schools that have shown an interest in what it has to offer.
“SkyTree Book Fairs offers a positive alternative to Scholastic,” Cameron said. “We want to do a better job of providing wholesome books to kids. We want a better alternative that puts good age-appropriate books in the hands of our children.”
Unfortunately, this is what we will have to do up and down the line, in every field of manufacturing and product sales. Because these megacorporations insist on peddling sexually explicit materials and products to our children or otherwise support efforts to target children for sexual conquest by adults and an adult agenda, we will simply have to sell our services and products in a parallel economy that promotes healthy children and pro-American ideals.
If you’re a parent, go to your school and demand a SkyTree book fair instead of one run by Scholastic’s groomers.
