CLINTON ‘HIGHLY ADVISED’ TO BOYCOTT DEBATE AFTER TRUMP PROPOSES DRUG TESTS

Hillary Clinton should refuse to take part in her third and last presidential debate with Donald Trump on Wednesday night because of the Republican nominee’s latest inflammatory remarks, according to David Axelrod.

The Daily Mail reported that the Democratic adviser, a key figure in both of President Obama’s campaigns for the White House, was incensed at Trump for tweeting: “Athletes, they make them take a drug test, right? I think we should take a drug test prior to the debate. Why don’t we do that? We should take a drug test prior, because I don’t know what’s going on with her, but at the beginning of her last debate, she was all pumped up at the beginning, and at the end it was like, ‘Oh, take me down.’”

Axelrod fired back Saturday on Twitter: “Drug testing?!? You have to wonder if @HillaryClinton will/should reconsider next debate, given the depths to which this has sunk.”

The political strategist also slammed Trump’s remarks at a recent campaign rally. The real-estate mogul, referring to Clinton’s near-collapse at a 9/11 memorial ceremony, told the crowd: “She could barely reach her car. So I think we should take a drug test. Anyway, I’m willing to do it.”

The Daily Mail noted that some observers have wondered whether Trump was on drugs during both of the first two debates, when he repeatedly sniffed. Howard Dean, a former Democratic governor of Vermont who is a medical doctor and Clinton supporter, tweeted: “Notice Trump sniffing all the time. Coke user?” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., accused the GOP nominee of “projecting” when he called for drug tests at the debate.
