DeSantis Took To The Stage And Everyone Stood Up And Cheered!

Governor DeSantis receives the rock star treatment from an enthusiastic throng as he walks out into the heat and haze of the lights at Frank Brown Park.

Before beginning his remarks, DeSantis was greeted with chants of “USA! USA! USA!” As he took the stage, Mr. DeSantis stated “I am proud that Florida is holding the largest concert since the pandemic began, right here in Panama City Beach,”  “And we’re only doing it because Florida chose freedom over Fauci-ism.”

The appreciative crowd had a lot to be thankful for. Florida was one of the first states to open up once the pandemic began, thanks to Governor DeSantis’ efforts. Over 22,000 people attended the music festival. It is the third-largest state in terms of population and is among the top three in terms of the number of old People. Mr. DeSantis, on the other hand, was able to steer Florida through the Covid crisis, avoiding the disastrous blunders made by the majority of blue-state governors.

The Gulf Coast Jam was a Pepsi-sponsored festival that featured a weekend of “Country on the Coast.” Lynyrd Skynyrd, Luke Bryan, and Brad Paisley were among the headliners. Cody Jinks, Cole Swindell, Brothers Osborne, Billy Ray Cyrus, Rodney Atkins, Walker Hayes, and more well-known country performers were also in attendance.

Kyle Morris tweeted, “Florida’s three-day Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam over the weekend was one of the largest in-person concert gatherings held since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.”

“Florida is the place! Ron DeSantis is the man!” Another poster tweeted.

I can attest to that attitude as I sit at my desk with a red heart in a blue state.

It’s unclear whether the festival checked temperatures or required non-vaccinated attendees to do COVID-19 tests at this time, but there was no information on COVID-19 safety standards on the event’s webpage on the Panama City Beach site. From the images and videos taken at the event, it does not appear that any masks or social distance were enforced.

According to the Tallahassee Democrat reports:

New coronavirus cases in Florida increased by 14.9 percent in the week ending June 6. Last week, there were 12,049 new cases, up from 10,483 the week before. Despite having only 6.45 percent of the country’s population, Florida had 11.95 percent of new cases last week.

Last week, the country as a whole reported 100,804 cases. Despite the fact that this is down 28.3% from the previous week, the Tallahassee Democrat speculated that certain locations may be reporting cases late due to the Memorial Day weekend, giving countrywide week-to-week comparisons a larger chance of mistake. The Tallahassee Democrat reports that starting on June 4, the Sunshine State began publishing data on Fridays each week.
