One of the absolute worst things in the world is a sudden policy change where you end up having to totally alter your behavior.
I remember years ago I worked at a place where I was one of the only people in the building after a certain hour some playing a radio with an earpiece was never an issue, and the boss even said as much.
Then one day, they came into drop something off and complained to me about it for what seemed like forever. It made no sense.

The newly elected Colorado Congresswoman had pledged to carry a Glock handgun during her term in Washington, DC, saying, “I will carry my firearm in DC and in Congress,” in a video posted to Twitter last Sunday.
In the wake of last week’s breach on the Capitol Building, metal detectors were installed outside of the House chambers, which everyone, including members, must walk through in order to get to the floor.
Capitol Police won’t let her in until Boebert shows them what is in her bag, she won’t and is now standing by the entrance of the chamber. She is respectful but defiant.
According to Nobels, Boebert was eventually let into the chamber, though “it was unclear from my vantage point if the Capitol Police searched her bag before she went in”.
