Hillary Clinton has cancelled her planed election night fireworks display over the Hudson Bay. Her staffers called the Coast Guard last week to call them off. Now, why would she do that? She still has a big party planned in Manhattan and Trump has a party planned there too. Does this mean that Clinton thinks she may lose? Hard to tell at this point. The New York Fire Department sent out a letter about the victory party last week and now it is no more.
The Clinton campaign will not comment on why they cancelled the fireworks so abruptly. That seems strange as well. The cancellation was made last Thursday before Comey gave Clinton another pass and further enraged the American people. It seems to me with a race this close and as much hot water as Hillary has been in, that planning fireworks is somewhat premature and arrogant. That’s Hillary Clinton for you though.
From the Daily Mail:
Hillary Clinton’s campaign has called off its planned election night firework display, it emerged Monday, the day before America goes to the polls.
Staffers were going to put on a two-minute show over the Hudson River after the results come in on Tuesday, but the proposal has been canned, TMZ reported on Monday.
The campaign called the Coast Guard last week to tell them the event was off, three days after the New York Post reported it was planning the bash – although the cancellation was secret until Monday.
The plans emerged three days after FBI director James Comey told Congress his agency was investigating a trove of emails found on the laptop of Anthony Weiner, husband of Clinton aide Huma Abedin.
The cancellation was made Thursday – before Comey wrote again to Congress to say that the FBI had not found anything to justify changing its verdict of no charges to the Democrat about her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.
Clinton should remember her history a bit here. In 1948, President Harry Truman was famously photographed holding a copy of the Chicago Daily Tribune which had gone to press with the headline ‘Dewey Defeats Truman’. The Republican Thomas Dewey had been the hot favorite to beat Truman, but the incumbent won one of the closest elections ever. Trump could still beat Clinton… it is very, very possible.
No Republican has won New York since Reagan. We’ll see if Trump can pull it off. It’s going to be very tight. America is ready to elect a new leader, but we have no clue which one it will be. Even with the Hildabeast cancelling her fireworks for tomorrow night, there will still be plenty of fireworks as the results come in. It’s going to be dramatic and as real as it gets.
