John Legend Starts Twitter War with Donald Trump Jr…And It Is Entertaining To Say The Least

Pop singer-songwriter John Legend and Donald Trump Jr., former Ivy League classmates, unloaded on each other in a heated Twitter battle Friday night.

The two started exchanging barbs on Twitter when Legend referred to Trump Jr.’s father, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, as a “racist” following the cancellation of his Chicago rally, which was postponed due to violent protests.

“Ha 5 students when asked why they were protesting couldn’t even answer,” Trump Jr. first tweeted. “The participation media/micro aggression generation is pretty sad!”

Responding moments later, Legend tweeted, “I think they were protesting your racist father. This isn’t complicated.”

The two continued sparring over the musician’s charge.

“Here we go again,” Trump Jr. wrote in response. “That can’t be the answer for everything you don’t like. That’s why the country is so divided now!”

But Legend offered a different perspective: “No, it’s just the answer when racist racists are saying racist sh*t and are endorsing the KKK.”

Following those comments, both Trump Jr. and Legend stopped tweeting each other. However, one apparent Trump supporter chimed in with a now-deleted tweet, slamming the popular singer for having “no education” — an inaccurate claim.

Legend quickly corrected the record, telling the Twitter user, “the Donalds and I graduated from the same university, funny enough.”

Legend graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1999 with a degree in English, concentrated in African-American literature and culture, according to the Daily Mail.

Trump Jr. graduated in 2000 from the university’s Wharton School, the same place his father received his business degree, with a bachelor of science in finance, real estate and marketing, according to hisLinkedIn profile.
