Two Kids Went Missing A Year Ago, And Where They Were Just Found Will…

In a heart-wrenching tale, two abducted young siblings were found safe and sound nearly a year later, wearing disguises and shopping in a Florida grocery store.

Eleven months after vanishing from their Missouri home on March 15, 2022, Brooke and Adrian Gilley, aged eleven and twelve, reappeared. Recently found in Florida, the siblings were spotted shopping with their biological mother, Kristi Nicole Gilley, 36, wearing disguises to conceal their identities. Authorities have now confirmed that the children were indeed abducted by Gilley, who did not have legal custody at the time.

In March last year, Gilley had no legal rights to the children when they mysteriously disappeared. Through a routine vehicle tag check, authorities managed to track her down, discovering her vehicle 1,100 miles from the children’s home in Missouri, parked at a Winn-Dixie store in Florida. The High Springs Police Department investigated and apprehended Gilley as a fugitive from the law in a grocery store about twenty miles outside Gainesville, Florida.

Upon her arrest, police found Gilley in the store with Brooke and Adrian, all three donning disguises to avoid detection. Officers successfully identified the siblings who had been missing for nearly a year before their discovery in Florida.

Rescued from their kidnapper, the siblings are now under the care of the Florida Department of Children and Families Services. They will receive assistance until they can safely reunite with their rightful guardians, who currently have legal custody.

Florida officials confirmed that the children would soon return to their birth family. Before discovering Gilley had taken them to Florida, authorities believed the siblings have hidden away in California, on the opposite side of the country.

The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office currently detains Gilley, who is awaiting extradition to Clay County, Missouri, to face trial for kidnapping her biological children without legal custody.

The Liberty Police Department in Missouri announced:

“Both Gilley kids have been safely located out of state. Their non-custodial mother is in custody on parental kidnapping charges out of Clay County, Missouri. Thank you to everyone who shared this post, as it helped bring these children home!!!”

The news has stirred a range of emotions among Daily Mail readers, who voiced their opinions in the comments section.

One reader from the United States shared their empathetic perspective, writing, “Heartbreaking that a mother has to do this to be with her kids. It’s obvious she loves them and would do anything to be with them. Would the other parent? Sometimes men will take the kids to hurt the mother when they don’t really want them. And it comes down to who can pay for the best attorney. I went down the same road and ran away. Found a good pro bono lawyer who believed in me.”
