In a video he posted online, Ben Stein, a conservative author, lawyer, and former game show host warned the United States is on its way to becoming a “racial dictatorship.”
On Friday, the former host of “Win Ben Stein’s Money” expressed his concern on Truth Social that people can no longer compare and contrast disparities in reference to themes like race without running the risk of losing everything. Stein was preparing salmon in the 26-second film as he stood in front of a stove.
“Food for thought, we’re getting into a racial dictatorship. God Bless this great country.” Stein captioned the video.
For a brief commentary on cancel culture, Stein addressed the camera in the clip. He said, “Hello, friends, So, it occurs to me — and it’s kind of a scary thought — we’re getting into a racial dictatorship here where you simply cannot speak your mind.”
Even the “most evident disparities between the races and among the races,” cannot be discussed, the comedian said. And doing so could mean “losing your job, your friends, your house,” Stein opined.
He said, “That’s a racial dictatorship. We’ve never had that here before.”
“God bless you,” Stein concluded.
Stein is quite active on Truth Social, and he regularly posts videos on Rumble. In a 30-minute video streamed live on Saturday,— the actor, whose hilarious moment in the 1986 film “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” is still cited by younger generations — elaborated on his ideas regarding a “racial dictatorship.”
Stein said, “Even within the family, free speech has been greatly curtailed.”
Stein said ignoring statistics about crime and education will not serve to help anyone, while commenting broadly about black Americans, whom Stein called his “brothers and sisters in God.”
Black Americans, according to Stein, are capable of great accomplishment but are hindered by a culture that denigrates talking about the underlying reasons for the problems that young black Americans face.
