Big Little League Basebrawl Caught On Camera [VIDEO]

My parents never let me play organized baseball, and to be perfectly honest with you I am kind of happy that they made that decision.

That being said, I wasn’t the type of kid that didn’t play baseball. I just never played in any organized league or on any sort of organized team.

I think my parents, and a lot of other parents where I grew up liked the idea of it being something that we did when we wanted to lest the whole idea of baseball got soured on us.

I mean, how many times have we heard stories about people that might have been promising athletes that just decided to quit because of a bad experience with a coach.

That’s the thing with children’s sports, at least in my opinion. The parents take it too personally.

You’ve got the kids that are trying to have a good time, and get some exercise, and you have parents out there acting like every game is a World Series game that they have bet their entire life savings on.

The adults that are involved with children’s sports really need to realize that with the way that a lot of them act that they are ruining the experience for these kids.

Take for instance an incident that happened at Little League game recently between an umpire and a coach.

What happened here is nothing short of an all out assault.

Apparently the coach in question had been swearing quite loudly at this game that was, and I have to point this out, BEING PLAYED BY CHILDREN.

The home plate umpire was exclaiming to someone that the coach should be ejected from the game for his utterance of profanity.

The two met at home plate and got chest to chest while another umpire tried to break things up.

It was at that point that it all broke down.

The coach initiated first contact, and the umpire defended himself by whacking him repeatedly with his protective facemask.

I personally hope that the coach is never allowed to be in charge of any children’s activity again.

Not saying that the umpire is in the right, but he was acting in self-defense and the idea that telling someone not to swear so much in front of children would cause such a violent reaction is indicative of a whole other set of problems.
