The hot and cold relations between General Motors, Ford, and Donald Trump seem to have reached an end. The president-elect reprimanded the company for moving the car production in Mexico, and not long after Trump was elected President, they somehow accepted his ideas of uniting the people of the U.S.

After an at-times contentious relationship during the campaign, Ford and General Motors on Wednesday issued statements expressing their hopes of working with Donald Trump once he takes the Oval Office in January.
Ford, which was criticized by Trump for moving small-car production to Mexico, echoed Trump’s comments from his victory speech, in which he vowed to unite the American people.
“We agree with Mr. Trump that it is really important to unite the country — and we look forward to working together to support economic growth and jobs,” Ford said in a statement, via Automotive News.
GM expressed a similar sentiment.
“GM looks forward to working with President-elect Donald J. Trump and the new Congress on policies that support a strong and competitive U.S. manufacturing base,” GM said in a statement. “GM will continue to do its part to transform the future of mobility and contribute to America’s competitive strength.”
Donald Trump has straightforwardly rebuked NAFTA, the trade deal signed by Canada, the U.S., and Mexico in 1994, which has made some in the automotive industry anxious, and it seems that two of the “Big Three” will try to use a milder tone with the new CEO.
