Canada’s authoritarian government warned Freedom Convoy truckers protesting Canada’s COVID-19 mandates that not only could they be arrested for participating in the peaceful demonstration but also their pets could be confiscated.
Seriously? Trudeau is now going after your dog. This comes after Justin Trudeau’s regime decided the protests were a threat to national security.
Thursday morning, Ottawa bylaw officials announced that anyone participating in the ongoing protests, which began over two weeks ago, could risk having their pets seized. The move to threaten pet owners follows increased efforts by both the city and federal authorities to bring an end to the truck drivers’ protests over Canadian vaccine mandates.
The city officials say they will keep the dogs for 8 days and then the animals “will be considered relinquished.”
The official Twitter account of Ottawa’s by-law and regulatory services tweeted Thursday:
“Attention animal owners at demonstration. If you are unable to care for your animal as a result of enforcement actions, your animal will [be] placed into protective care for eight days, at your cost. After eight days, if arrangements are not made, your animal will be considered relinquished.”

The by-law did not indicate what might become of animals once they were determined to be relinquished, but critics on Twitter had a few guesses — and none of them were pleasant.
