A day after Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton tried to pawn her email scandal off on former Secretary of State Colin Powell, claiming that he advised her to use a personal email account to transmit classified intelligence, Powell fired back with an epic truth bomb.
“Her people have been trying to pin it on on me,” the now-retired Powell told People magazine. “The truth is, she was using (the private email server) for a year before I sent her a memo telling her what I did.”
Specifically, Powell told her how he had used a personal AOL email account for unclassified communications during his tenure as the secretary of state. Never once did he suggest or imply that she should use a personal account to send or receive classified, let alone “Top Secret,” information.
Why then did Clinton claim otherwise?
“Why do you think?” Powell rhetorically replied, when People asked that very question. “It doesn’t bother me. But it’s OK; I’m free.”
Due to both the FBI and the Department of Justice’s unwillingness to prosecute Clinton, she remains free as well. Nevertheless, the scandal continues to dog her on the campaign trail, where the former secretary of state faces a constant onslaught of accusations regarding her endless lies, her proven recklessness and her obvious lack of remorse.
I believe Mr. Powell. He has always shown us his personal side in ethics, and he is without a doubt an honest man. What I now worry about is this good man being a target of her and her husband. The people who have dealt these two seem to meet unfortunate accidents. And I as well as a whole country of admirers will be more than angry if he is threatened.
