George W. Bush Shows Up To NFL Game And Makes EPIC Patriotic Move That Stuns The Entire U.S.
Former President George W. Bush will likely be best remembered for the events of Sept. 11, 2001, and his swift response to them. On the 15th anniversary of those events, Bush attended the home opener of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys — along with some very special guests.
The Cowboys, Bush’s home NFL team, were playing the New York Giants in Dallas for the opening weekend. The Giants, of course, are one of two NFL teams from the area hardest hit by the attacks on that fateful day 15 years ago to the day.
With Bush, as he conducted the traditional coin toss, were two men from the New York Police Department — men who were at Ground Zero, men who lost brothers-in-arms in the horrific terrorist attacks a decade-and-a-half ago.
“Honored to be with David Norman and Robert Zajac of the New York Police Department today, first responders at Ground Zero fifteen years ago,” George W. Bush wrote on Facebook.
“For many of us, today may feel like any Football Sunday in America. For David, Robert, first responders, and those who lost loved ones on 9/11, the memories of that dark day are fresh — and so is the pain. Laura and I hold the victims of 9/11 and their families in our hearts, and on this anniversary, we lift them up in our prayers.
“May God bless all who mourn, and may He continue to bless and watch over our great land,” he concluded.
Bush also delivered a prerecorded message on the jumbotron at Dallas’ AT&T Stadium while an American flag was unfurled on the playing surface.
On this poignant anniversary, it’s good to see George W. Bush spending it with the people who really matter: the men and women who were on the ground that day. It’s one of the most patriotic things one can do.
