A video caught a man who wasted no time making a thief pay for his big mistake after the crook tried to steal someone’s car that belonged to a UFC fighter, making the thief learn a hard lesson.

Jordan Williams, a welterweight fighter in the UFC, thought it was okay to leave his car running in the parking lot while he went inside the store to get a drink when he stopped at a gas station in Denver, Colorado. Unfortunately, a thief noticed what Williams had done and decided it would be the ideal time to try to take the car but soon discovered himself learning the hard way.

Williams is seen spotting the suspect getting into his car and attempting to drive away, but the suspect wouldn’t get far as captured on security camera footage. Williams told ESPN as he recalled the startling moment he witnessed the criminal attempting to steal his car, he said, “At first I couldn’t really believe it, and then I was like, ‘Holy s**t, there’s someone really in my car.”

According to the Blaze, the car was still running, but because of push-to-start technology, it could not be driven if the key was more than five feet away from the vehicle. Williams approached the vehicle with his key, but “the drive capability re-engaged and the perp began backing up,” Williams had a much different plan in mind before the burglar probably escape with the car believing he already got the car.

Unfortunately, the idiot driver was about to discover the opposite. He learned a hard lesson about how serious a mistake he had made rather than pulling off a successful carjacking.

“So, I run-up to the car, and I have a push-to-start car. So, if my keys aren’t within five feet of the car it won’t drive. As I started to run towards the car it started to slowly back up, Yeah, I got your car and this is happening.” Williams recalled.

Security camera footage shows Williams carrying a stylish fanny pack. Opening the driver’s side door, Williams clinches the assailant — landing at least three knee strikes, before pulling the man from the vehicle, who then takes off beyond reach of the CCTV camera.

The meeting was made even better when Williams shared the video with his followers on Instagram, describing it as a “short yet profound lesson for the thief.” Later, it was uploaded to YouTube sports channels like MMA Focus and others.

The Wisconsin native claimed that he would have preferred to land numerous ground strikes on the would-be thief before he took off, as well as attempting to net himself a sponsorship with a fannypack manufacturer.

“I opened the door, and it’s funny, the first thing I did was throw the stuff I bought on the passenger seat, and, then, I proceeded to punch the guy. After the first punch, he said, ‘OK, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.’ I was able to get some knees on him, as he was exiting out,” an amused Jordan Williams told ESPN.

Williams said he wishes he could have taught the guy a little bit more, despite the fact that he appeared to have learned his lesson, in an Instagram post, featuring the security footage, he wrote: “Wish I would of [sic] hit him with the trip after the clinch work when I tossed him out of the whip, and finish off with some ground and pound but I’ll settle with getting my car back.”

Williams joked, “Forgot your hat?!,” over a picture of the man’s hat that he had left behind during the altercation as he ended the security video footage.
