A month ago, Rep. Devin Nunes, former Republican ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee predicted that on the FBI’s botched investigation into Donald Trump’s alleged ties to Russia, the Justice Department Special Counsel John Durham would provide a “damaging report,” about it.
Nunes fears that the results of Durham’s probe will never see the light of day. the Former ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee expressed his feelings that the Biden administration will “bury” the long-awaited report, preventing it from being released publicly and covering the tracks of those who plotted against Trump as well as the question of who authorized the scheme.
During an interview with the conservative media outlet Newsmax, the California Republican stated that Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland “seems to be kind of a puppet for the Left,” which, based on his priorities in the early stages of the administration, maybe an accurate depiction of a man leading the war on political dissent.
Garland refrained from committing to the public release of the Durham report when he was put on the spot by Senator Chuck Grassley during his confirmation hearings earlier this year, dodging the question entirely.

Since being appointed by then-attorney general William Barr in 2019, the Connecticut “bulldog” has been conducting a secretive investigation that has dragged on long enough for Democrats to retake the White House and the Justice Department, and install Garland, who arrived with a serious axe to grind after his Supreme Court nomination was sunk by Republicans.
After then-President Barack Obama chose Garland to replace renowned conservative Justice Antonin Scalia after his startling untimely death in 2016, the GOP-controlled Senate successfully kept him off the bench in an election year, and Trump later nominated and had approved Neil Gorsuch.
Rep. Nunes’ remarks come after he expressed optimism last month that Durham’s work would result in justice being delivered.
“I’m still positive, and I guess I have to be, that people are going to go to jail, and they are going to be prosecuted for the Russia grand fiasco and the Russia hoax,” he said during an appearance on investigative journalist Sara Carter’s podcast last month.
“It may not be as broad as we want it to be, but look, there are some major perpetrators. I think, as you and everybody else know, we’ve made over 14 criminal referrals. That doesn’t mean 14 individuals. That means 14 different criminal referrals involving multiple individuals.”
Few have been more frustrated at the pace of Durham’s probe than Trump who spent his entire presidency under the cloud of the Russia collusion hoax despite Mueller coming up empty.
