After Suggesting US Banned Him from Travelling, Khizr Khan Comes Clean About What Really Happened

During the 2016 election, Khizr Khan made headlines with his fiery speech at the Democratic National Convention, directed toward then-candidate Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump consistently smears the character of Muslims. He disrespects other minorities, women, judges, even his own party leadership. He vows to build walls and ban us from this country.”

Since then, the Khan has remained publicly critical of President Trump and his executive orders on immigration claiming it has harmed national security:

“This president has endangered the lives of our men and women, our sons and daughters serving overseas in the armed forces. Ask any member of the armed forces serving overseas, they will tell you our safety, our lives depend on the loyalty of the translators. This president, because of his malice towards Muslims, has endangered their lives. He has alienated patriotic American Muslims in the United States. He has alienated them. When you alienate any group, that group becomes the ground for bad to happen.”

Then, in early March, Khan announced that he would be unable to travel to a speaking engagement in Canada because he was “notified that his travel privileges are being reviewed”:

Khan immediately stated he had “not been given any reason as to why” :

“This turn of events is not just of deep concern to me but to all my fellow Americans who cherish our freedom to travel abroad.”

But with government officials on both sides of the border completely denying any type of travel hold — Khan’s claims were suddenly blown to pieces:

Now, nearly two weeks after he made his bogus “travel privilege” claims, Khan finally came forward with the admission that the decision to cancel his trip to Canada was entirely his own.

In an email to WCVE reporter Hawes Spencer, Khan stated:

“I did not want to go through the hassle of uncertain rules and capricious implementation.”

He didn’t stop there.

Khan then went on to say he refuses to travel abroad “until there’s clarity” about how he can expect to be treated at the border.

WOW.
