Now, Senate Democrats are outraged after a draft opinion by Justice Samuel Alito overturning Roe v. Wade was leaked.
Politico is the first to leak the draft opinion on Monday night which is by the way very highly unusual. No one leaked this kind of opinion from the press if there is no hidden agenda, this might be an attempt to switch the vote before it was announced.
Then a scripted response from Democrats headed by Bernie Sanders called for an end to the Senate filibuster in order to pass legislation and to make abortion the law of the land.
Congress must pass legislation that codifies Roe v. Wade as the law of the land in this country NOW. And if there aren’t 60 votes in the Senate to do it, and there are not, we must end the filibuster to pass it with 50 votes.

Unfortunately, their evil plan might not even be going to happen. Here’s a tweet from @catturd2:

Sorry, Bernie…it seems your party mates aren’t coordinated with your plan, after all, moderate Democrat Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema said they will not kill the filibuster.
Here’s what The Daily Mail reported:
Moderate Democrat Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema are standing firm in support of the filibuster, resisting President Biden’s call for Congress to codify abortion rights and calls from within their party to abolish the 60-vote hurdle.
‘The filibuster is a protection of democracy,’ Manchin, D-W.Va., told reporters when pressed about calls to codify abortion rights after a leaked draft Supreme Court opinion revealed a majority of justices were in favor of reversing Roe v. Wade.
A spokesperson for Sinema, D-Ariz., said that the filibuster was ‘more important than ever,’ citing seven times in the past it had protected against abortion rights infringements.
‘Protections in the Senate safeguarding against the erosion of women’s access to health care have been used half-a-dozen times in the past 10 years, and are more important now than ever,’ the Sinema spokesperson told Axios.
‘A woman’s health care choices should be between her, her family, and her doctor. Overturning Roe v. Wade endangers the health and wellbeing of women in Arizona and across America,’ she added.
Even without the filibuster, Democrats likely wouldn’t have the votes to codify abortion rights.
