SORRY GLOBAL WARMING NUTS…NASA Reports That The Antarctic Ice Sheet is… Um… GROWING By BILLIONS OF TONS
I am sure the religionists in the global warming cult will have reasons to explain it all away, but a recent NASA report just revealed something about the Antarctic ice sheet that the climate change crew will not want to hear.
As Steven Crowder recently noted, NASA just released a report saying the ice sheet that liberals say is melting has actually grown and by billions of tons of ice.
In a blog entry on its website, NASA published its study finding Mass Gains of Antarctic Ice Sheet Greater than Losses.
A new NASA study says that an increase in Antarctic snow accumulation that began 10,000 years ago is currently adding enough ice to the continent to outweigh the increased losses from its thinning glaciers.
The research challenges the conclusions of other studies, including the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) 2013 report, which says that Antarctica is overall losing land ice.
According to the new analysis of satellite data, the Antarctic ice sheet showed a net gain of 112 billion tons of ice a year from 1992 to 2001. That net gain slowed to 82 billion tons of ice per year between 2003 and 2008
It seems that contrary to climate change guru Al Gore’s claims that all the ice caps would be “melted” by 2014, it seems this just isn’t the case, and no less than NASA is the agency saying so.
This all runs quite contrary to the left’s insistence that all the ice at our poles is disappearing and cannot be replaced due to global warming.
Crowder also notes that even if we believe the left’s claims about global warming, the loss of ice doesn’t seem to be corresponding to the alarmist claims they are making about it. According to this NASA report, the worst case scenario means that it will be at least three decades before we see any declining ice caps.
“Meaning we’d still gain trillions of tons of ice between now and say 2046 before we started to see a net loss of ice,” Crowder said. “Meaning at that point, continuing at the worst rate we can possibly project, we’d have many decades before ice volume fell to 2015 levels . Let alone levels of 30 years ago, before this whole scare started.”
