They Are Selling Something In Grocery Stores Now That Prove This Generation Is Totally Lost…

Pre-cooked Fried Eggs spark outrage after hitting shelves in Spain.

Spanish supermarket chain Mercadona has begun selling pre-cooked eggs across the country, boiling up heated reactions from Spaniards angry at the laziness and environmental damage on display.

The pair of ready-cooked eggs are vacuum-sealed in a film of plastic and sold for €1.80 ($1.90). The packaging instructs customers who purchase the fried eggs to put them in the microwave for just 45 seconds to heat them up so they’re absolutely delicious to eat in the morning.

“Put in the microwave for forty-five seconds,” the packaging instructs the Spanish customers.

That’s around the same price as buying a dozen uncooked eggs in Spain, but it’s not the price that has upset most Spaniards, rather the fact that something as simple and quick as cooking a couple of huevos in the frying pan is deemed too laborious and time-consuming for some shoppers. This is making people even lazier than they already are.

According to Blanca Rubial of the environmentalist group Amigos de la Tierra, the average consumer in Spain throws about seventy pounds of single-use plastic packaging per year.

“The price is exorbitant and the packaging cannot be less sustainable,” said a consumer in Spanish, reacting to the post on Twitter from the grocery store chain.

One tweet that has gone viral typifies the response of many Spaniards to this bizarre supermarket offering:

“We are going to hell”, wrote Dr. Elena Casado Pineda along with a photo of the packaged eggs.

It seems as if the majority of Spaniards are against the idea of pre-cooked fried eggs on their store shelves. For that reason, it looks like this product won’t be going viral for all the right reasons anytime soon.

Another user who posted a video of himself petrified under his bed covers, said “Mercadona selling fried eggs is the beginning of the end”’.

Several others have taken to TikTok to review Mercadona’s divisive eggs. “It tastes like an egg, even though one made at home is much better, obviously,” concluded one young influencer.

“I guess the fried egg flavor crisps weren’t quite enough of an abomination,” said one person.

More details of this bizarre story from AWM:

In Spain, there is a new plastic waste law. The law bans the use of plastic packaging for fresh fruit and vegetables if they weigh less than three pounds or 1.5 kilograms. However, the new Spanish ban will not be applied to pre-cooked food like the pair of fried eggs being sold on the shelves of the supermarket chain Mercadona.

It seems like many Spaniards are disturbed by the already-cooked fried eggs being sold at a supermarket chain that is popular in the country. With so much plastic waste and laziness associated with this product, it’s sure to be the talk of the town for some time to come.

And while some people may find convenience in the already-cooked fried eggs, it is clear that many Spanish consumers are appalled by the product’s wasteful plastic packaging and the implication of laziness. In a time when people around the world are becoming more conscious about their waste and sustainability, the already-cooked fried eggs have become a symbol of unnecessary excess and extravagance.
