This man did something on the plane that was a big no-no, and now he’s looking at prison for 20 years! You’ve gotta mind your p’s and q’s on those planes…
This is due to the fact that a Gardnerville, Nevada man had pleaded guilty on Monday to allegations that he had been groping a woman on flight from Seattle to Las Vegas.
Daniel A. Parkhurst, 38, pled guilty to one count of interfering with a flight crew member or attendant and a count of simple assault in the aircraft jurisdiction of the United States.
Both the court documents and Parkhurst himself admit that on October 31, 2019, he was intimidating “flight crew members and flight attendants on a Southwest Airlines flight from Seattle to Las Vegas. During the flight, he assaulted another passenger. The resulting disturbance involved flight attendants and other passengers, and interfered with the performance of the flight crew and flight attendants’ duties. Parkhurst’s actions caused the aircraft to be diverted from its flight to Las Vegas, instead landing in Reno.”
‘Parkhurst squeezed the upper inner thigh of the woman who had fallen asleep, would not let go when she told him to and hit her several times,’ according to ABC News.
Parkhurst faces as much as 20 years in prison for interference with flight crew members and attendants and six months in prison for simple assault in the special air jurisdiction of the United States.
Acting U.S. Attorney Christopher Chiou for the District of Nevada and Acting Special Agent in Charge W.M. Herrington made the announcement for the FBI.
