On Monday, Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz said in a Twitter post how Ketanji Brown Jackson will be the most liberal justice to ever serve on the Supreme Court once confirmed by the senate.
In a Twitter post shared by Cruz alongside a link to an interview on Fox News’ “Life, Liberty & Levin,” he said: “I’ve known Judge Jackson for 30 years. We were in law school together. We were both on the Law Review for Harvard. Personally speaking, she is very bright, she is very charming, she is very affable.”

“Her substantive record is dramatically to the Left. If she is confirmed, she will be the most liberal justice of all nine, and she will be the most liberal justice to have ever served on the U.S. Supreme Court, and that will have enormous consequences across the entire range,” he added.
He also mentioned some of the highlighted areas in which he believes Jackson’s views will have consequences for Americans, calling her record a “consistent left-wing radical approach.”
“It will have enormous consequences for free speech. It will have enormous consequences for religious liberty. It will have enormous consequences for the Second Amendment. Her record shows a consistent left-wing radical approach,” he told Levin.
Cruz also strongly challenged Jackson in a state hearing in numerous areas including her apparent support of the controversial 1619 Project.
Cruz asked Jackson, “Miss Hannah Jones in her 1619 Project describes the central thesis of the 1619 Project, which The New York Times laid out as a revisionist look of history, revising American history, and Miss Hannah-Jones described her central thesis as quote, ‘one of the primary reasons the colonists decided to declare independence was because they wanted to protect the institution of slavery.”
“Now that claim is a highly contested historical claim. Do you agree with Miss Hannah-Jones that one of the primary reasons the colonists decided to declare independence is because they wanted to protect the institution of slavery?” he added.

The Texas senator also challenged Jackson regarding her lenient sentences of child pornography offenders.
“Do you believe in a case like United States v. Hawkins, where the prosecutor asked for 24 months and you sentenced the offender to only three months, do you believe the voice of the children is heard when 100% of the time you’re sentencing those in possession of child pornography to far below what the prosecutor is asking for?” he asked.
Jackson also said during the Senate hearings that she could not provide a definition for the word “woman.”
Jackson, who appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee for her second day of confirmation hearings, pushed back on the question from Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and said that it was not in her purview as a judge to provide an answer to that.
