Why Has Whoopi Goldberg Suddenly Disappeared From Public View…

Joy Behar of the “The View” announced that her co-panelist Whoopi Goldberg will be taking a break from her duties on the show in the coming days for her upcoming projects.

“If you’re wondering where Whoopi is, the girl’s got a movie she’s making and she will be back when she finishes whatever she’s doing. So she’s gone for a while,” Behar said.

Goldberg is reportedly filming Prime Video’s upcoming series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s 2005 fantasy novel Anansi Boys.

According to recent reports, she is starring as the villain in an adaptation fantasy novel for Amazon Prime. Considering it stars my second-least favorite “View” host in a film adapted from a book by one of my least favorite novelists on arguably the worst major streaming platform, I won’t be watching. Whoopi is excited, however.

Goldberg told Variety in an article published last week:

“I have been a fan of this book for a very long time. When Neil Gaiman told me it was being brought to the screen, I did everything I could to be part of it to help make people aware of Anansi and all his magic.”

Though Goldberg will be absent from “The Show” until May, it is worth noting that if Goldberg weren’t a liberal and had gone on any of the on-air rants she’s indulged in recently, she’d be off “The View” until May 2 and beyond because “The View” would no longer be one of her professional obligations.

It was in January when she hat the Holocaust was “not about race” during one of “The View” episodes.

Goldberg  said:

“It’s about man’s inhumanity to man. That’s what it’s about. These [Nazis and Jews] are two white groups of people. But you’re missing the point, you’re missing the point. The minute you turn it into race, it goes down this alley. Let’s talk about it for what it is: It’s how people treat each other. It’s a problem. It doesn’t matter if you’re black or white.”

According to the New York Post report:

ABC suspended Goldberg from “The View” for two weeks earlier this year. The suspension came after Goldberg faced widespread condemnation for declaring during a segment that the Holocaust was “not about race.”

Goldberg later apologized.

“The Jewish people around the world have always had my support and that will never waiver [sic]. I’m sorry for the hurt I have caused,” she tweeted.

Despite the apology, a source told The Post that Goldberg was “livid” over the suspension – to the point that she threatened to leave the show entirely.
