A viral video continues to circulate on social media showing an alleged abusive dog owner being dragged by a leash on a New York City sidewalk.
Tashawn Rodriguez told Newsweek that he saw a man pulling a dog “for three blocks against his will” while wearing a “choker chain” around his neck. Rodriquez became enraged and ordered the abusive dog owner to wear the dog’s choker chain around his own neck. He then yanked and jerked the chain, knocking the dog owner to the ground.
The footage was posted on Twitter by Rodriguez with the username @Str8CashTwist. “When you drag a beautiful pitbull for three blocks against his will and walk past another fellow pitbull owner with no explanation …. KARMA!” Rodriguez wrote as a caption.

With the metal dog collar around his neck, the dog owner faces the camera. Rodriquez grabs the leash attached to the collar and pulls hard, causing the man to fall to the ground. And while the man was pulled on his back, he proceeded to yank the chain, smacked him in the face, kicked him in the ribs, and walked away.
After alerting viewers that the owner was in “poor shape” and “out of work,” Rodriquez organized a fundraiser to help care for the dog. Rodriquez has been making sure the dog is doing well and is being closely monitored.
The video has received over 500,000 views and has received mixed reviews. Further people seemed to approve of Rodriquez’s vigilante behavior when he released more images of the dog at the moment of the animal’s assault and showed the canine’s face all bloodied.
