VIA| President Donald Trump has banned immigration and refugees from “dangerous” Muslim countries using an executive order. Just hours after he signed the order, the country of Iran announced it will be retaliating.
Via Yahoo!News: Iran said on Saturday it would stop U.S. citizens entering the country in retaliation to Washington’s visa ban against Tehran and six other majority-Muslim countries announced by new U.S. President Donald Trump.
“While respecting the American people and distinguishing between them and the hostile policies of the U.S. government, Iran will implement the principle of reciprocity until the offensive U.S. limitations against Iranian nationals are lifted,” a Foreign Ministry statement said. “The restrictions against travel by Muslims to America… are an open affront against the Muslim world and the Iranian nation in particular and will be known as a great gift to extremists.”
The U.S. ban will make it impossible for immigrants to come into America from six Muslim nations that have been deemed dangerous, including Iran.
The ban is just the latest in a string of America-First actions that Trump has taken during his first week in office. On Wednesday he ordered the construction of a U.S.-Mexican border wall, a major promise during his election campaign, as part of a package of measures to curb illegal immigration.
He also formally withdrew the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal on Monday, fulfilling a campaign pledge to end American involvement in the 2015 pact.
