Members of a Muslim rape gang shouted “Allahu akbar” [my god is greatest] in court as they were jailed for raping, drugging, and abusing girls aged 11 and 13 in the town of Rotherham.
As their supporters began shouting down into the court, one of the victims shouted back “justice is served” as police moved into the public gallery.
Three brothers and three other men were convicted of crimes including rape, indecent assault, and false imprisonment after the pre-teen victims were “systematically groomed”.
Matloob Hussain, Mohammed Sadiq, and brothers Basharat, Nasser, and Tayab Dad were convicted of 21 historic sex offenses at Sheffield Crown Court on the 26th of January.
The gang were sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court for sexually abusing two girls in South Yorkshire between 1999 and 2001. They were told by the judge they would serve a total of 81 years in prison after the offenses more than a decade ago.
“There’s evil and truly evil people in the world,” the victim said in a statement that was read to the court. “I feel my child was the product of pure evil.”
Some of the abuse occurred in a flat above a family-owned shop in the town, and one of the victims, known as Girl A, fell pregnant aged just 12 years old.
On one occasion, brothers Basharat and Nassar locked the terrified 12-year-old girl in the flat overnight, which was described as being extremely dirty, with no electricity or running water. She was trapped there until her mother rescued her the following day.
Here’s what the victim’s impact statement read. The woman said people in her community shunned her after her ordeal.
“I was drawn into a world of fear, rape and horrific abuse. I lost my childhood at the hands of those men.”
“No-one understood. No-one wanted to understand. I felt lost, isolated, trapped, ashamed and completely worthless,” she said. “I was completely owned by these dirty old men who would do with me whatever [they] wanted, whenever they wanted.”
The horrific crimes only began to come to light when South Yorkshire police began investigating the sexual exploitation of young girls in Rotherham in 2014 after allegations of a cover-up were exposed in the press.
Later in 2014, the government’s Jay report found that more than 1,200 girls from Rotherham had been raped, trafficked, and abused by mostly Muslim gangs. The abuse was allowed to go on for around ten years because authorities were scared of accusations of racism, the report found.
The National Crime Agency is reportedly still looking at hundreds of potential suspects involved in the case.
“This is our third significant inquiry into child sexual exploitation in Rotherham and, with the lengthy jail terms handed down to these individuals today, we have now put 18 criminals behind bars for over 280 years,” Detective Chief Inspector Martin Tate told the Daily Mail.
He gave a statement about the case:
Following the successes achieved, we will now continue to move forward using the learning and best practice we have acquired over the last few years, through work done with our brave victims, their families and partnership agencies, to apply this practice to future investigations. I’d encourage any victims and survivors out there who are yet to come forward to please get in touch or tell someone you trust. Officers and specialist support agencies are here to listen, to investigate and to bring perpetrators of this heinous crime before the courts.
The heartbreaking story of these little girls made the readers online expressed their outrage over this sickening story.
“Castrate this bunch and place them in prison with General population to deal with,”
One reader commented on Facebook. “They seem to hate child molesters.”
“What will happen in 10-15 years when these scumbags are released?” another added. “I’d be waiting for each one so I could personally end their time on this planet.”
